Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. She was born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, and was the 2nd youngest recipient in Oscar history. Anna Paquin spelled out Anna Helene Paquin was born in Winnipeg, Canada on July 24,1982. The Canadian born actress is also a actress from New Zealand. In 1993, she was awarded an Academy Award at age 11 to play the inquisitive, talking child of Holly Hunter who played the principal character. After responding to a call for open auditions at age nine and having no acting experience before that, she won Flora McGrath's part. Flora is the daughter of a Scottish pianist, who was deaf. The couple relocated into New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century to arrange a marriage. As a teenager, her family moved from Canadian to United States. Paquin was the main character in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and also had a small part in the film as Jane Eyre in the film when she was just a young child. Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 TV movie adaptation of the novel by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding as well as a small role in the role of Queen Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). Also, she played the role of a teen girl named Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
