Taylor Swift, the rarest pop sensation, is one who was able to transcend from the country genre to mainstream pop culture and become an icon of the pop culture. She also conquered the entire globe through her music. Swift has thrown off her country roots like they were second skins, showing herself to be the smartest pop singer/songwriter in her generation. Swift is able to harness the current zeitgeist and make it her personal. The evidence was clear in her early songs, particularly with regard to the neo homage of Tim McGraw. On her second release Fearless (2008) Swift showed a songwriter getting to understand herself. Fearless was successful not only in America, but also with six platinum-certified songs. The Top Ten songs Love Story and You Belong with Me were the main reasons for this. It also performed exceptionally well throughout the world. Speak Now delivered almost two years later, which consolidated the popularity and pushed Swift towards the top of superstardom. The next three albums she released, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017) Reputation (2017), her popularity increased and she was able to enter a music scene with a clear sense of where she deserved to be. As she cut her style by releasing stripped-down albums like 2020, folklore and Evermore however, she remained in the top spot. It was a position that was confirmed with the re-recordings she had made from her earlier catalogue as well as Midnights the synth-based chart-topper 2022 album.
